Job Description:
- Lead, plan, supervise, and motivate project and site teams to achieve milestones safely, on time, and within budget.
- Ensure full compliance with M&E safety standards, statutory regulations, contractual obligations, and relevant codes of practice.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor all M&E site activities, ensuring quality execution and timely completion.
- Oversee M&E operations, including installation, repair, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting on-site.
- Manage procurement, project budgets, material tracking, and approval of Material Requisition Forms (MRFs) to ensure cost control and efficiency.
- Conduct and review inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and compliance.
- Provide overall oversight for electrical, mechanical, and related civil works; coordinate with consultants and subcontractors for smooth execution.
- Liaise with utility providers such as Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), consultants, and authorities for approvals and compliance requirements.
- Monitor site risks and respond promptly to equipment, machinery, and power issues with effective corrective actions.
- Ensure that all M&E installations and works are safe, legally compliant, and meet industry/contract standards.
- Chair and actively participate in coordination, technical, and safety meetings with project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project teams, consultants, suppliers, and management to resolve issues and maintain positive working relationships.
- Review and approve project documentation including Method Statements, product catalogues, sample boards, RFIs, and shop drawings.
- Supervise and coordinate all manpower-related matters, ensuring proper deployment, productivity, and efficiency of site teams and subcontractors.
- Monitor project progress, claims, and variation orders, ensuring timely submission and collection.
- Mentor and guide Assistant Project Managers and site staff to build capability and ensure knowledge transfer.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by management to support project execution or company operations.
Requirement:
Education & Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent field.
- Professional certifications (CIDB, or relevant authority recognition) are an added advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 7–10 years of working experience in project management, specifically in M&E (construction/engineering and high risk).
- Proven experience handling end-to-end project management (from tender to completion).
- Strong background in M&E systems (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, etc.).
- Hands-on experience in both technical and site management.
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong knowledge of M&E codes, PWD/PAM contracts, and statutory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage teams and liaise with stakeholders.
- Proficient in project management tools (MS Project) and standard office software.
- Financially literate: able to manage budgets, progress claims, VO, and cost control effectively.
- Proactive, analytical, detail-oriented, and solution-focused.
- Able to work under pressure and meet tight project deadlines.
