Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the complete Ford Safe Launch process, ensuring full compliance with Ford CSR, APQP/PPAP, and Q1 requirements.
- Coordinate and prepare all Ford audit and launch documentation, including PFMEA, Control Plans, SCAFF, and Safe Launch plans.
- Work full-time on-site at the Malaysia plant to oversee equipment modification, installation, commissioning, validation, and production ramp-up activities.
- Implement enhanced quality controls for critical characteristics (CC/SC), including 100% inspection, SPC/Cpk monitoring, layered audits, and defect containment to achieve zero defects and zero escapes.
- Manage quality and equipment issues during ramp-up using 8D and PDCA methodologies, ensuring timely corrective actions and effective issue closure.
- Serve as the primary communication interface between Ford STA and the supplier, participating in all key meetings, audits, and progress reviews in fluent English.
- Provide regular updates to Ford and internal management on production ramp-up status, equipment readiness, risks, corrective actions, and document completion.
- Lead Safe Launch exit activities, including performance data analysis, exit application preparation, audit support, and transition to mass production controls.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (Quality, Engineering, Production, Logistics, and Equipment) to ensure compliance with Ford standards and successful project execution.
- Maintain complete traceability and audit readiness for all Safe Launch records, reports, and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- Six Sigma Green Belt+ (Black Belt preferred)
- 8+ years automotive experience with Ford/OEM Safe Launch or ramp-up management
- Tier-1 supplier SLM experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of APQP/PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D, IATF16949, and Ford Q1
- Experience in equipment modification, validation, and audit support
- Fluent English for direct communication with Ford STA/SME
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination skills
- Able to work full-time on-site in Malaysia under high-pressure launch conditions
- Authority to stop production/shipment for quality issues
