Job Purpose
The Store Manager is responsible for driving store performance by maximising productivity and profitability through effective team leadership, staff development, and achievement of business goals. This role involves planning and executing strategies to meet sales targets, analysing market trends, and collaborating closely with regional leadership to enhance store performance. The Store Manager leads by example, fosters a high-performance culture, and ensures operational excellence aligned with brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client & Network Management
- Build and nurture a loyal customer base aligned with sales and brand strategies
- Act as a brand ambassador within the local market, managing external relationships and supporting marketing and merchandising initiatives
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for growth
2. Business & Store Performance Management
- Define and manage annual sales targets, budgets, and forecasts
- Track and drive performance against daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals
- Optimise store profitability and overall contribution
- Ensure efficient staff scheduling to maximise productivity, especially during peak periods
- Maintain an optimal staff-to-customer ratio to ensure excellent service delivery
- Monitor and control store expenses, including manpower costs, in line with budget
- Drive continuous growth in store revenue
- Oversee store maintenance within budget guidelines
- Identify investment opportunities and propose improvements to regional leadership
- Manage day-to-day store operations including replenishment, inventory, and visual merchandising
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security standards
- Handle administrative duties and reporting requirements
- Deliver strong financial results through effective management of margins, stock, and costs
3. Leadership & Team Management
- Ensure team composition aligns with sales and brand objectives
- Motivate, coach, and mentor team members to achieve high performance
- Lead recruitment, performance evaluation, and career development in collaboration with HR and regional leadership
- Enforce grooming and presentation standards
- Drive ongoing training and development initiatives
- Maintain clear and effective communication across all levels within the store
4. Inventory & Stock Management
- Support inventory control and ensure stockrooms are well-organised
- Ensure accurate recording of all stock movements to minimise discrepancies
- Monitor and reduce stock loss
RequirementsExperience:
- 3–5 years of experience as a Store Manager in a retail or service-oriented environment
- Experience in luxury retail is an advantage
Education:
- Minimum secondary education or equivalent; a degree is preferred
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to handle moderate lifting and stockroom tasks
- Ability to move efficiently across the sales floor
- Capability to maintain store presentation and cleanliness
Communication Skills:
- Strong command of English
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
Work Schedule:
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
