Job Title : Data Engineer Manager
Experience: 10 + yrs

12 months Contract

1. E2E Ownership of the Data Supply : Take full accountability for data quality from source systems through to BI consumption. Implement and enforce pre-BI validation at source and transformation layers to prevent bad data from reaching downstream teams. Proactively monitor for discrepancies, identify root causes, and coordinate directly with relevant tech/vendor teams for rapid resolution (no waiting for BI to flag issues). Manage the 4-5 system data engineers: Ensure DEs work passing the QC and meeting deadlines

2. Robust Data Architecture & Modeling: Shift the team from reactive shortcuts to scalable, future-proof design. Lead the design of advanced, maintainable data models capable of handling high-complexity transformations (e.g. Ohayo projects). Streamline and optimize EDP data pipelines, consolidation logic, and overall consumption efficiency. Ensure full alignment with the global development team on data consolidation standards and practices for global pantries.

3. Comprehensive Technical Documentation & Knowledge Transparency: Eliminate dependency on lengthy and verbal handovers. Require and review clear, up-to-date E2E documentation for every pipeline, table, source, and transformation logic: enabling any team member to understand the full flow without explanation. Maintain holistic visibility and deep understanding of all data flows from source systems to final KPIs.

4. Bridge Between Solution Manager/Business & Technical Teams: Reduce time spent by Solution Managers & Business Intelligence Manager explaining context to data engineers. Translate complex business KPI requirements and logic into precise, actionable technical specifications for the engineering team. Own evaluation of late/urgent changes (e.g., Brand Master updates): assess technical feasibility, downstream impact, effort, and trade-offs, then guide implementation decisions.

5. Quality Gatekeeping & Engineering Excellence: Serve as the final line of defense for output quality. Conduct thorough code, logic, format, and output reviews for all data engineering deliverables, catch errors before they propagate and require rework when standards are not met.
