- Oversee the full set of accounts for the Company and its group of companies, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Lead, supervise, and develop the accounting team to ensure efficient day-to-day financial and accounting operations. Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to drive team performance and achieve departmental objectives.
- Oversee core accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, taxation, claims, invoicing, and collections, ensuring all processes are completed accurately and within stipulated timelines.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow forecasts, project cost analysis, and aging reports for management review.
- Monitor and manage the Company’s cash flow projections to ensure effective cash management and financial sustainability.
- Perform business analysis, financial evaluation, and strategic planning, including the development of long-term business and financial plans aligned with the Company’s objectives.
- Lead and participate in feasibility studies, due diligence exercises, and financial assessments for new projects and potential investments. Evaluate cost effectiveness and provide insights on financial impact, including cash flow and profitability.
- Ensure all financial records, documentation, and filing systems are properly maintained, organized, and up to date for audit and reference purposes.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records, particularly in accounts receivable, and implement measures to reduce outstanding and overdue debts.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including taxation, audit, and regulatory reporting. Stay updated on changes in financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting standards, and advise management accordingly.
- Manage all audit and tax-related matters, including liaising with external auditors and tax authorities (e.g., LHDN), and ensure timely and accurate responses to queries.
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance operational efficiency and governance.
- Support the Company’s financial objectives by identifying and facilitating funding opportunities, including loans, grants, and other financial assistance for business expansion.
- Participate in management and departmental meetings, providing relevant financial insights and updates to support decision-making.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management.
