The Mechanical Engineering Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all mechanical engineering activities across the Asia-Pacific region, with a primary focus on execution, industrialization, and production readiness.

This role serves as the on-site mechanical authority and operates as a peer to global mechanical leadership. It ensures full alignment between design, validation, and manufacturing while maintaining the highest standards of quality, performance, and scalability.

Critically, this role is accountable for mechanical design and prototyping activities up to the successful completion and approval of the First Article (FA). Upon FA approval, full ownership of the product transitions to the Operations and Manufacturing (OPS) Department for production and ongoing execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all mechanical engineering activities based in Malaysia
• Oversee mechanical design, prototyping, and validation through First Article (FA) approval
• Drive the transition from design to production, ensuring smooth industrialization
• Ensure all designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and scalable for mass production
• Collaborate closely with global engineering teams to ensure design alignment and consistency
• Participate in and enforce structured design reviews, governance, and engineering standards
• Work in close coordination with Operations, QA/QC, Supply Chain, and manufacturing readiness initiatives
• Drive continuous improvement in mechanical design, assembly processes, and production efficiency
• Ensure proper documentation, version control, and engineering change management

Role Importance

This role is critical to ensuring successful product execution, industrialization, and scalability within Malaysia and the broader APAC region.

The individual will act as the mechanical authority on-site, bridging the gap between global design teams and local manufacturing operations, while ensuring that all products are properly engineered, validated, and transitioned into production with discipline and efficiency.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Strong expertise in SolidWorks (assemblies, detailed drawings, PDM)

• 7 to 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering
• Proven experience in industrialization and manufacturing scale-up
• Background in complex assemblies
• Demonstrated success in taking products from prototype to full production
• Experience working within Asian manufacturing environments strongly preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
