About the role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team at AXTRADA (MALAYSIA) SDN BHD. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of our construction projects in the Kota Kinabalu, Sabah region. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and development within our dynamic organisation.

What you'll be doing

1. Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects

2. Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors

3. Analyse and interpret technical drawings and specifications

4. Monitor and control project costs to ensure they remain within budget

5. Prepare progress claim, variation orders (VO) and project documentation

6. Assist with the preparation of tender documentation and bid submissions

7. Site visits to monitor project progress

8. Collaborate with the project team to ensure effective project delivery

What we're looking for

1. Diploma / Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field

2. Experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the construction industry is an advantage

3. Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and cost control techniques

4. Proficient in the use of quantity surveying software and MS Office applications

5. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders

6. Demonstrable problem-solving and decision-making abilities

7. Familiarity with local construction regulations and industry standards
