We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Pastry Commis to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and takes pride in producing high-quality pastries and desserts. You will work closely with our chefs to assist in daily production and preparation of all pastry items.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and production of cakes, tarts, and other pastries.
- Support senior chefs with daily mise en place and baking tasks.
- Ensure all products meet the company’s quality and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen and equipment.
- Assist with packing and labelling of finished products when required.
- Comply with hygiene, safety, and food handling procedures at all times.
- Learn and develop skills in new recipes, techniques, and kitchen operations.
Requirements
- Some experience or training in pastry or bakery preferred (fresh graduates welcome).
- Genuine interest in pastry and dessert making.
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
- Able to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Possession of a WSQ Food Hygiene Certificate is a plus.
