NC Design & Architecture Ltd. (NCDA) is a design studio in Hong Kong known for creating environments that thoughtfully integrate architecture, interiors, and bespoke objects. Our work spans a wide spectrum — from small-scale furniture pieces and immersive art installations, to private homes, clubhouses, and restaurants, through to significant hotel and large-scale developments such as Mandarin Oriental Hangzhou and Dubai Mall. Rooted in narrative, craft, and a deep respect for context, our projects have been recognised with awards including the Dezeen Award and Tatler Best Bar Design for Artifact Bar, Vogue and Interior Design Magazine’s Best House Design for Chapel Residence, and the UK Restaurant & Bar Award for KI Culinary Club.

We approach every commission through a rigorously 3D-centric process, conceiving architectural form, spatial experience, custom furniture, lighting, and the finest interior details as part of one cohesive whole. From our studio on Hollywood Road in Sheung Wan, we are seeking a Senior Interior Designer whose practice is defined by a genuine passion for bespoke furniture, lighting, and the meticulous refinement of interior details. You are drawn to projects that are singular and site-specific — those that emerge from deep research into history, context, and place, and that quietly make a meaningful difference. With the ability to move fluidly between the macro scale of overarching spatial narrative and the micro scale of crafted detail, you will help realise environments of quiet distinction and lasting resonance.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute at a senior level across all phases of design and delivery — from research and concept through detailed development, documentation, and realisation — with particular focus on the seamless integration of bespoke furniture, lighting, and finely resolved interior elements within the broader architectural narrative.
• Bring strong design direction and detailing expertise to guide and elevate the work of intermediate designers, refining concepts at both macro (spatial definition) and micro (furniture, lighting, and custom details) scales.
• Develop and refine sophisticated 3D models, technical drawings, renderings, and presentations using Rhino and complementary tools, ensuring precision from conceptual volumes to the most considered construction details.
• Play a central role in landmark projects, including:
• Mandarin Oriental Hangzhou: crafting guest rooms, suites, presidential suites, and four distinctive restaurants and bars near the UNESCO World Heritage West Lake, where bespoke elements thoughtfully bridge heritage and contemporary elegance for the 2026 opening.
• Dubai Mall: creating refined retail interiors with integrated custom design.
• Deep Water Pavilia: designing ultra-luxury residential interiors and furnishings in Wong Chuk Hang that respond sensitively to their sea-view setting and Hong Kong context.
• Additional hospitality and private residential commissions that call for research-driven, one-of-a-kind solutions.
• Collaborate closely with clients, architects, specialist makers, and contractors to realise designs with sensitivity to budget, timeline, and the highest standards of craftsmanship.
• Undertake site visits, material research, and project coordination in Hong Kong and, on occasion, internationally.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Professional degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Furniture or Product Design, or a closely related discipline.
• Seven or more years of relevant experience, with a strong portfolio demonstrating high-end interior architecture, bespoke furniture and lighting design, intricate detailing, and a track record in hospitality or luxury residential projects of distinction.
• Exceptional design sensibility and a proven ability to guide and mentor intermediate designers in developing refined concepts — from broad spatial strategies to the finest custom details.
• Strong proficiency in Rhino is highly desirable for advanced 3D sculpting and detailing; solid working knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, and Adobe Creative Suite. A sound technical understanding of materials, construction, and lighting is expected.
• A research-oriented and curious approach that draws upon history, cultural context, and site to create authentic, singular design solutions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; Cantonese and/or Mandarin are highly advantageous.
• Eligible to work in Hong Kong, with immediate or near-term availability preferred.
• A shared commitment to craftsmanship, storytelling through design, and the creation of environments of quiet distinction.
