About the role
We are seeking a highly talented Retail Design Coordinator to join our team at BRDB Developments Sdn Bhd's BSC Mall in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur. As a key member of our Retail Design department, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating the design and implementation of our retail spaces, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and functionality.
What you'll be doing:
- Oversee, coordinate, and manage tenant fit-out works to ensure smooth execution, quality, compliance, and adherence to approved specifications.
- Review tenant concept desogn submissions and provide design direction and store planning guidance to tenants and their designers.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, ensure timelines are met, and verify compliance with approved drawings and mall regulations.
- Arrange and conduct site inspections (handover, renovation) with tenant and internal teams at key project stages up to business commencement.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Leasing, Facilities Management) and external parties (Architects, M&E Consultants, Contractors) to resolve landlord provisions, tenants requests, and site issues.
- Maintain and update mall master plans, tenancy layouts, and landlord provision schedules to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain organized project records and documentation from initiation through completion for future reference.
- Manage special interior design projects assigned by management.
- Supervise rectification works and coordinate upgrades or reconfigurations within the mall.
- Prepare and submit regular fit out progress reports, monitor project schedules, progress & cost/budget, hightlighting challenges, delays, and resolutions to management.
What we're looking for
- Degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Project Management or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in retail design or project coordination, preferably within the shopping mall industry
- Excellent understanding of retail design principles, including space planning, lighting, and visual merchandising
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and stakeholders simultaneously
- Proficiency in design software, such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and colleagues
- Keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
