About the Company
Onerway is a fast-scaling, cross-border payment service provider (PSP) helping merchants process card and alternative payments globally. This is a rare opportunity to shape the foundation of a next-generation payments business at a critical inflection point. We are looking for a driven and results-oriented Partnerships Manager to support our APAC expansion. As part of the commercial team, you will be responsible for building, managing, and expanding strategic partner relationships across multiple markets. The ideal candidate is a strong relationship builder with solid commercial acumen, who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, onboard, and manage strategic payment and channel partners, including processors, wallets, acquirers, banks, and other financial institutions.
- Own and develop assigned partner/channel portfolios, acting as the internal subject matter expert across commercial terms, payment capabilities, legal, tax, risk, compliance, and market requirements.
- Build strong working relationships with partners to drive collaboration, resolve operational issues, and support the successful launch and growth of payment channels.
- Monitor partner and channel performance, including approval rates, success rates, cost, settlement timelines, service quality, and overall reliability.
- Drive continuous optimization of routing strategy, cost efficiency, payment performance, and partner service levels.
- Work closely with internal teams, including Business Development, Account Management, Compliance, Legal, Product, Operations, and Finance, to support partner onboarding and ongoing channel management.
- Provide market insights, partner updates, performance reporting, and strategic recommendations to support business growth and expansion into new markets or verticals.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience, ideally in fintech, payments, financial services, technology, or a fast-paced startup environment.
- Strong interest in the payments and fintech industry, with the motivation to build deep knowledge across payment products, partner ecosystems, commercial models, compliance, and market requirements.
- Commercially savvy, with the ability to understand business priorities, partner incentives, pricing structures, and revenue / cost implications.
- Self-driven and resourceful, with a strong learning mindset and the ability to independently pick up new industry knowledge, market practices, and technical concepts.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage external partners and work effectively with internal stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and reliable, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, follow through on assignments, and drive matters to completion.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and able to work autonomously in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin.
- Willingness to travel based on business requirements.
