Job Purpose

The candidates will focus on product quality testing including but not limited to sample preparation, machine operation, trials and tests on Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) in accordance with stipulated guidance. Conduct technical activities such as conduct test/analysis and/or generate report based on customer’s complaints, troubleshooting and so forth.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform routine tests/analysis on mechanical properties (e.g. tensile, hardness, abrasion, MVR, density, impact etc.), product extrusion quality, analysis (e.g FTIR, DSC etc) and so forth.
• Prepare test specimen by injection and/or extrusion.
• Maintain systematic documentation practice in compliance with ISO requirements. Ensure accurate and timely update of analysis reports and other documents.
• Develop work instructions and standard operating procedure and ensure strictly compliance with ISO requirements.
• Support internal/external ISO audit activities.
• Set up and revalidate methodology so as to ensure continuous improvement in product quality.
• Conduct lab analysis/retest, generate report and follow up on customers’ complaints.
• Ensure proper storage and management of retention samples and raw materials.
• Troubleshoot and carry out basic maintenance work of lab equipment/machine.
• Carry out safety and housekeeping activities in the lab.
• Conduct Trial/test/analysis and provide support to R&D and Technical Support team if necessary.
• Ensure that all consumables are sufficient for daily operations.
• Any other duties as and when assigned by superior.

Job Requirements

• ITE/ Diploma/ Bachelor Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science or Engineering.
• At least 1 to 2 years working experiences in polymer industry, preferably in plastic/elastomer testing and processing.
• Possess good knowledge of chemicals.
• Basic laboratory knowledge and methodologies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Able to work effectively with inter- and cross-functional teams.
• Good team player and willing to collaborate with different stakeholders to achieve common goals.
• Meticulous with an eye of accuracy.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Able to work under fast-paced environment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
• Candidate must be willing to work in Jurong Island.
