Job Purpose

The Assistant Quality Engineer (CMM) is responsible for supporting incoming quality control, First Article Inspection(FAI), dimensional measurement activities, and supplier quality assurance to ensure all supplied materials and components comply with Fu Yu Corporation’s quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations. The role also supports continuous improvement activities, documentation control, and quality reporting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI) for new suppliers, new tooling, and revised components.

2. Perform precise dimensional measurements using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM, FARO, Smart Scope, and Keyence LMX systems.

3. Support incoming inspection of purchased parts, FAI samples, and critical components according to engineering drawings and specifications.

4. Review inspection reports and verify compliance with customer and internal quality requirements.

5. Record, analyze, and report accurate measurement data while highlighting deviations or non-conformances immediately.

6. Maintain, troubleshoot, and ensure proper calibration and storage of inspection and measurement equipment.

7. Develop and maintain inspection reports, measurement records, and quality documentation.

8. Upload and manage quality data, reports, and records in ETQ, SharePoint, or related quality systems.

9. Prepare monthly quality performance reports related to FA inspection, measurement trends, rejects, and supplier performance.

10. Support Line Reject Note (LRN), RMA, RAF, and corrective action follow-up activities when required.

11. Coordinate with suppliers, production, engineering, and internal stakeholders on quality-related issues and improvement actions.

12. Assist in continuous improvement projects, cost reduction activities, and process enhancement initiatives.

13. Support internal, customer, and external audits related to ISO, medical, or regulatory standards.

14. Perform other quality assurance and engineering duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications& Requirements

Education
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.

Experience
Minimum 2–5 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Incoming QA, Manufacturing Quality, or dimensional inspection activities. Experience in FAI, CMM measurement, and corrective action management is preferred.

Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of inspection methods, GD&T, SPC, engineering drawings, ISO quality standards, and measurement tools. Mandatory hands-on experience in CMM and Smart Scope operation. Familiar with ETQ systems and proficient in MS Excel and reporting tools.

Soft Skills
Good communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams.

• Incoming defect and rejection rate.
• Timely closure of corrective actions and quality issues.
• Calibration and maintenance compliance of measurement equipment.

Work Environment

• Office, quality laboratory, warehouse, and production floor environment.
• May require overtime support during critical quality issues or customer escalations.
• Occasional supplier visits, audits, or on-site inspections may be required.

Pay: $2,300.00 - $2,700.00 per month
