Data Centre Technician / Data Centre Operations Engineer

Johor Bahru, Malaysia

Salary: RM4,000 – RM5,000 per month

Shift-Based Environment (24x7 Operations)

Our client, a leading global hyperscale data centre provider, is looking for Data Centre Technicians to support mission-critical infrastructure operations in Johor Bahru.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with data centre, IT infrastructure, network support, or server hardware experience who are keen to build a career within large-scale hyperscale environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day support within the data centre environment
• Rack and stack servers, cabling, patching, and hardware installation
• Troubleshoot server, network, and hardware-related issues
• Support asset management and inventory tracking activities
• Monitor data centre alarms, incidents, and operational activities
• Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and remote technical teams
• Follow operational procedures, escalation processes, and safety standards
• Support scheduled maintenance and incident response activities
• Ensure proper documentation and reporting of activities performed

Requirements

• Diploma / Degree in IT, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field
• Experience in data centre operations, desktop support, infrastructure support, NOC, or server support is advantageous
• Familiarity with servers, structured cabling, networking, or hardware troubleshooting
• Basic understanding of data centre environments and operational procedures
• Able to work in a 24x7 shift environment
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Fresh graduates with strong technical interest are welcome to apply

Preferred Skills

• Experience with rack & stack activities
• Knowledge of network devices, servers, or storage hardware
• Exposure to enterprise or hyperscale environments is a plus
• Understanding of ticketing systems and operational SOPs
