This position may also require occasional site visits to support testing, troubleshooting, or technical verification work.

About the Role

Laboratory Assistant will support the R&D team in day-to-day laboratory operations, product testing, and documentation work related to construction chemical products.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of R&D in laboratory testing of construction chemical products
• Conduct routine lab experiments, sample preparation, and product performance testing
• Assist in product certification processes and technical documentation
• Support submissions and approvals with relevant authorities
• Assist in green building certification processes such as Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) requirements
• Maintain lab equipment, records, and ensure proper lab housekeeping and safety compliance
• Support troubleshooting and technical investigations when product issues arise
• Assist with site visits when required to collect samples or support field testing
• Ensure all testing activities are documented accurately and aligned with internal quality standards

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Civil Engineering, or related field
• 3 to 4 years of experience in laboratory work within the construction or building materials industry

Required Skills

• Familiar with construction materials testing, formulation, or product development support
• Exposure to regulatory approval processes and certification work is an advantage
• Comfortable working in both laboratory and site environments
• Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline
• Able to work independently and support a senior R&D lead effectively
• Good communication and coordination skills
