Job Responsibilities

• To accurately enter the patient’s information as provided on the request form into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) which includes the patient’s demographic information, doctor’s code, billing code and other relevant information pertaining to the request made.
• To ensure that the correct test(s) is being ordered for the patient based on the request form.
• To notify the Supervisor or Head of Department immediately for any discrepancies encountered during the entry of doctor’s, billing or test code.
• To check all entries made to prevent data entry errors.
• To check the request form folder to ensure that all forms received were data entered.
• To attend to all queries made pertaining to data entry.
• To receive specimens from the internal / external courier service staff as well as from the patient centre in accordance with the procedures outlined in the SOP.
• To sort specimens for data entry / analysis ensuring all forms / specimens are verified for patient details, barcoded and panelled for test(s) appropriately in accordance with the procedures outlined in the SOP
• To handover all request forms to the Data Entry Department for data entry after sorting specimens.
• To segregate (by departments), process (centrifugal, splitting and secondary barcode) and delivery of specimens to the respective departments on time in accordance with the procedures outlined in the SOP.

Key Requirements

• No minimum education qualifications required.
• No working experience required, however, prior experience in a Data Entry position will be highly advantageous.
• Maintain good working relationships with colleagues, clients, suppliers and members of the general public.
• Maintain confidentiality in all areas of work, patients record, etc.
• Undertake training as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM10.00 per hour
