Position Title: Project Engineer Construction Management
Project: Biotech Facility Expansion
Location: Tuas
Duration: 4 months (possibility of extension and to move to different projects)
Position Description:
Supports the planning, coordination, execution, and monitoring of construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, safely, and to required quality standards. The role acts as a key link between site teams, consultants, contractors, and the project manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and executing construction works
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and subcontractors on technical and site matters
- Review construction schedules and monitor progress against the baseline plan
- Support preparation of method statements, work plans, and sequencing
- Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards
- Ensure works are executed according to construction schedule and method statements
- Attend site meetings, toolbox talks, and coordination meetings
- Identify site issues, propose solutions, and escalate where necessary
- Review and coordinate shop drawings, material submissions, and technical documents
- Respond to technical queries (RFIs) and assist in resolving design or site issues
- Verify measurements, quantities, and completed works for progress claims
- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, company policies, and statutory regulations
- Support implementation of quality control and inspection plans
- Participate in site inspections, audits, and corrective action follow-ups
- Ensure proper documentation of inspections, tests, and approvals
- Maintain accurate project records, drawings, and correspondence
- Prepare progress reports, site diaries, and action lists
- Support handover documentation and project close-out activities
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in construction or engineering projects (junior/senior level adjustable)
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project controls
- Familiarity with local regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Proficient in MS Office and basic project tools (e.g. Excel, scheduling software)
