Job Summary

Laboratory Technicians ensure safe, compliant waste management by performing waste segregation, sample analysis, equipment maintenance, and data management in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lab Department with waste segregation and sampling to support effective waste management
• Conduct wastewater sample analyses using methods such as pH measurement, COD, KF Titrator, Ion Chromatography, Gas Chromatography, and Bomb Calorimeter to ensure accurate test results
• Maintain laboratory equipment by performing regular maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting to ensure operational reliability
• Record and enter all test results accurately into documentation systems for traceability and reporting
• Evaluate sample quality from new and existing customers to determine waste characteristics for proper handling
• Review test results promptly and provide feedback to support decision-making and quality control
• Communicate effectively within the team and across departments to coordinate laboratory activities
• Perform routine housekeeping and actively participate in 5S practices (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Follow safe work procedures and comply with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) rules and regulations to ensure workplace safety
• Carry out additional duties as assigned to support laboratory and waste management operations

Required competencies and certifications

• ITE or Diploma in Chemistry or related field (essential for technical knowledge and laboratory tasks)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office to manage data and documentation efficiently
• Ability to work independently to complete tasks with minimal supervision
• Demonstrate initiative, positivity, and passion for work to contribute effectively to the team
