Mechanical Engineer

Location: Singapore

Ignite Search is a specialist recruitment company within the Technology & Renewables space, located in Singapore.

We are partnering with a fast-growing robotics and autonomous technology company. Due to continued expansion and product innovation, they are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and delivery of advanced robotic hardware platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical systems and components for autonomous robotic platforms
• Lead and mentor design engineers while ensuring project timelines and quality standards are achieved
• Own the mechanical design lifecycle from concept, prototyping, testing, and product release
• Produce rapid prototypes using 3D printing, laser cutting, and sheet metal fabrication methods
• Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, embedded, and software engineering teams
• Create 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation using SolidWorks
• Conduct design reviews, DFMEA analysis, and risk assessments to improve product reliability and safety
• Work with suppliers and manufacturers on sourcing, tooling, and production feasibility
• Support NPI activities and provide technical support during manufacturing and assembly
• Provide structured project updates to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related discipline
• 4–5 years of experience in mechanical design, robotics, hardware product development, or related industries
• Strong understanding of product development methodologies such as Agile, Stage-Gate, or Lean Product Development
• Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping and mechanical fabrication methods
• Proficient in SolidWorks and mechanical CAD design tools
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and material selection for plastics and metals
• Experience with NPI, supplier management, and manufacturing methodologies such as Six Sigma, APQP, or PPAP is advantageous
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable working in fast-paced and dynamic engineering environments
