GENERAL FUNCTION:
As a premium supermarket in East Malaysia, we strive to provide our customers with the best shopping experience possible by differentiating via quality, service, and curated in-store experiences The Cashier is responsible to register sales on a cash register by scanning items, itemizing and totaling customers' purchases. Resolves customer issues and answers questions. Collects payments by accepting cash, check, or charge payments from customers and makes change for cash customers.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To handle cash, credit, or check transactions with customers
- To scan goods and collect payments
- To ensure pricing is correct
- To issue change, receipts, refunds, or tickets
- To redeem stamps and coupons
- To count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change
- To make sales referrals, cross-sell products, and introduce new ones
- To resolve customer complaints, guide them, and provide relevant information
- To greet customers when leaving the cashier counter.
- To maintain clean and tidy checkout/ counter areas
- To keep reports of transactions
- To process returns and check to see if items are damaged
- To answer customers' questions and get a manager if answer doesn't solve the issue
- To provide excellent customer service to ensure satisfaction
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Candidate must possess at least a SPM/STPM or Diploma, any field.
- At least 1-2 years of working experience in the related field with basic math skills and fluent in English/ Bahasa Malaysia.
- Ability to handle questions and confrontations calmly and professionally
- Physically able to stand for long hours at a time and complete repetitive motions
- Able to work on 2 rotating shifts
- 6 days work week including Saturdays, Sundays and Public holidays
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
