JOB PURPOSE

The role holder is responsible for providing visionary and strategic leadership across both the academic and administrative functions of the campus, articulating and championing a compelling mission and vision, driving the effective implementation of school policies and frameworks, ensuring excellence in teaching and learning, and overseeing smooth daily operations to cultivate a safe, engaging, and high-performing educational environment across the Cambridge Primary Programme (CPP) and Cambridge Lower Secondary program (Grades 6–8)


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Leadership

  • Provide strategic leadership and set overall direction for the campus, ensuring smooth operations and a high-quality learning environment.
  • Develop and implement annual academic priorities and school strategies in alignment with the organisation’s broader objectives.
  • Define, communicate, and champion the campus’s mission and vision, establishing clear policies, processes, and frameworks to achieve academic and organisational goals.
  • Ensure excellence in curriculum implementation and teaching practices within the Cambridge Primary Programme (CPP) and Cambridge Lower Secondary, monitoring performance and initiating timely interventions to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional growth among staff, promoting a high-performing and engaged team.
  • Act as the key decision-maker for curriculum, pedagogy, and school-wide initiatives, balancing operational efficiency with educational quality.


Financial

  • Collaborate with the COO / Country Director on campus forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning.
  • Analyse historical data to identify trends and make informed projections for the current year, covering student enrolment, staffing, facilities, projects, and academic resources.
  • Provide strategic recommendations for staffing and operational budgets to ensure that high-quality teaching and learning standards are maintained.
  • Monitor budget utilisation and expenditure to optimise resource allocation while supporting the campus’s academic and operational objectives.


FUNCTIONAL


Strategic Leadership

  • Define and communicate key goals, performance indicators, and measurable targets to guide and evaluate staff performance.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and review strategic plans and processes to optimise the deployment of expertise, talent, and resources across the campus for Primary & Lower Secondary levels.
  • Oversee succession planning for Head of Departments and Coordinators ensuring continuity and a strong leadership pipeline.


Academic Operations

  • Oversee the implementation of the Cambridge Primary Programme (CPP) and Cambridge Lower Secondary Program (Grades 6–8) ensuring alignment with school standards and learning outcomes.
  • Support teachers and Coordinators in lesson planning, curriculum delivery, and instructional best practices within CPP and Lower Secondary frameworks.
  • Coordinate finalised CPP & CLSP curriculum plans with the Academic Head and Associate Director / Director – Academic Quality Assurance to secure necessary resources.
  • Collaborate with academic leaders to analyse student achievements, assessment results, and feedback, identifying areas for improvement across Primary & grades 6-8.
  • Provide coaching and support to teachers to enhance teaching effectiveness and instructional techniques within CPP & lower secondary.
  • Evaluate the relevance and effectiveness of teaching programmes in fostering students’ cognitive, social, emotional, physical, aesthetic, moral, and leadership development across primary & lower secondary segment.


Non-Academic Operations

  • Collaborate with the Admissions team to drive enrolment growth and strengthen the school’s reputation.
  • Work with the Operations team to ensure smooth campus functioning, including facilities management, safety protocols, emergency procedures, IT systems, and general upkeep.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on payroll, training, professional development, and recruitment initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Finance on budgeting, fee collection, and resource allocation to support academic and operational priorities.


Safeguarding

  • Ensures a safe classroom environment, free from hazards, and is aware of emergency protocols
  • Recognises signs of distress, abuse, or other issues that might affect a child’s emotional and physical well-being
  • Adheres to mandatory reporting laws and promptly escalates safeguarding concerns.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of child protection policies and safeguards sensitive student information.


Sustainability

  • Promotes environmentally friendly initiatives (e.g., paperless school) and ensures teaching materials are socially and culturally appropriate, leveraging digital platforms where possible.
  • Minimizes teacher prep demands while adhering to workload policies and ensuring efficient timetabling.


Interaction

  • Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with local regulators, ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Addresses complex parent inquiries with professionalism and sensitivity.
  • Maintain regular engagement with regulatory authorities and ensure that the campus adheres to all statutory, accreditation, and compliance requirements.
  • Meet with parents regularly and address complex parent enquiries, complaints, and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain effective relationships with parent groups or committees to encourage open communication and strengthen the school community.
  • Provide timely updates to senior leadership on significant matters that may impact the school’s reputation, student enrolment, staff retention, or regulatory compliance.


People Focus

  • Collaborate with Human Resources to enhance campus capabilities, addressing future needs through talent development and strategic recruitment.
  • Oversees the recruitment, selection, onboarding, and training of staff within the function.
  • Develops and leads high-performing teams by providing clear guidance, leadership, training, and opportunities for career growth.


JOB REQUIREMENTS


Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, or School Management is highly desirable.
  • Teaching certification or licensure recognized in the school’s country of operation.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Cambridge Primary Programme (CPP) , CLSP (6-8) and international curriculum standards.
  • Strong understanding of pedagogy, assessment practices, and educational leadership frameworks.
  • Proficiency in educational technology and data-driven instructional practices.


Experience

  • Minimum 8–10 years of teaching experience, including substantial experience in leadership or management roles (e.g., Head of Department, Deputy Principal, Academic Coordinator).
  • Proven track record of leading a primary school - Cambridge Primary Programme, and/or Cambridge Lower Secondary programme, with measurable improvements in student learning outcomes.
  • Experience in strategic planning, staff development, and curriculum implementation.
  • Strong experience in stakeholder management, including parents, regulators, and education authorities.
  • Experience managing budget, resources, and operational aspects of a school is an advantage.
