Purchasing/Buyer Intern

Job Description

The Purchasing/Buyer Intern will support the procurement team in daily purchasing activities, ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet production requirements. This internship provides hands-on exposure to supply chain operations within a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist buyers in creating and processing purchase orders (POs) in the ERP system.
• Follow up with suppliers on order confirmations, delivery schedules, and shipment status.
• Support material planning activities to ensure timely availability of parts.
• Update and maintain procurement records and databases accurately.
• Coordinate with internal teams (planning, warehouse, production) to track material requirements.
• Help resolve basic supply issues such as delivery delays or quantity discrepancies.
• Participate in supplier communication and documentation.
• Assist in data analysis and reporting (e.g., delivery performance, inventory levels).
• Support cost-saving initiatives and sourcing activities where applicable.
• Perform any other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the procurement team.
  
  

Qualifications & Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field.
• Strong interest in procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
• Able to based at Batu Kawan Penang
