The ACMV Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the engineering, technical coordination, design calculations, and project execution activities required for ACMV design and build projects at construction sites. The role involves planning project activities, performing technical calculations, coordinating project reviews, supervising site works, and ensuring smooth project implementation in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager and site personnel in the planning, execution, and completion of ACMV projects
- Perform ACMV engineering calculations including heat load calculations, pump sizing, airflow rate calculations, chilled water system performance analysis, chiller sizing and configuration, duct sizing, and fan sizing
- Review project specifications, technical drawings, and engineering requirements for ACMV systems
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities on project execution and technical matters
- Prepare and review shop drawings, technical submissions, method statements, and material approvals
- Supervise ACMV installation works on site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, project schedules, and quality standards
- Attend site inspections, testing, and commissioning activities to ensure systems perform according to project requirements
- Monitor site progress and resolve technical and coordination issues with subcontractors and project teams
- Analyze, monitor, and track project costs against approved budgets
- Assist in the preparation of progress claims, variation orders, project reports, as-built drawings, and handover documentation
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies and safe work practices on site
- Liaise with relevant authorities, subcontractors, and workers to ensure project and safety requirements are met
- Perform any other duties assigned by Management
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in ACMV projects within the construction industry
- Experience in ACMV design and build project execution and site coordination
- Knowledge in ACMV calculations including heat load, pump sizing, airflow rate, chilled water systems, chiller sizing and configuration, and fan sizing
- Familiar with testing and commissioning activities for ACMV systems
- Good project coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Able to manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively
- Able to work independently and in a fast-paced construction environment
