Business Development & Marketing Manager
About the Firm
We are a dynamic boutique law firm specialising in litigation and international arbitration. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, personalised legal services to clients and are seeking to grow our client base and visibility in Singapore and the region through targeted, cost-effective business development and marketing initiatives.
Role Overview
This is a hands-on, versatile role ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys both strategic thinking and day-to-day execution. Reporting directly to the Managing Partner, you will drive the firm’s business development and marketing efforts to generate new leads, strengthen client relationships, enhance the firm’s and lawyers’ profiles, and contribute directly to revenue growth.
In a small boutique environment, you will be the primary owner of BD and marketing activities, working closely with the lawyers to support their individual and collective growth objectives. We see this as a collaborative process between the partners and the BD manager with built incentives for the generation of business opportunities. The firm presently has a strong brand and marketing process but see significant potential in enhancing its position.

Marketing & Communications
- Design, produce, and manage regular client alerts/newsletters (rostering, content support, design, and distribution via tools like Mailchimp).
- Plan, coordinate, and manage the regular production and publication of short videos (e.g., legal explainers, topical insights, lawyer spotlights, or matter highlights). This includes coordinating filming with lawyers, basic editing and adding subtitles (or working with freelancers for this), and distribution across LinkedIn, the firm’s website, and other suitable platforms
- Manage the firm’s LinkedIn presence and manage Linkedin ad campaigns.
- Oversee website refresh, maintenance and content updates, coordinating with external vendors as needed.
- Create marketing collateral such as pitch decks, the annual digital brochure, case studies, and other materials (using Canva or similar tools).
Media Engagement
- Proactively identify and pursue media opportunities to raise the firm’s and lawyers’ visibility, including pitching articles and op-eds to national newspapers (e.g., The Straits Times, Business Times) and securing speaking appearances on national TV and radio for topical legal and industry matters.
- Track media coverage, monitor mentions of the firm and competitors, and amplify successful placements through the firm’s digital channels (LinkedIn, website, client alerts).
Events & Client Engagement

- Prepare briefing notes for client/prospect meetings, research leads, and assist with meeting follow-up and relationship nurturing.
- Build and maintain relationships with key referrers and strategic partners (e.g., accountants, banks, consultants).
Client Development & Retention
- Set up and manage a simple CRM system to track leads, interactions, opportunities, and client data.
- Support client retention initiatives, including satisfaction feedback and cross-selling opportunities.
Directories, Awards & Compliance
- Manage directory and award submissions (e.g., Legal 500, Chambers, Singapore-specific listings).
- Ensure all marketing, publicity, and social media activities fully comply with the Singapore Legal Profession (Publicity) Rules and Law Society guidelines.
Measurement & Reporting
- Track ROI on all BD and marketing initiatives (leads generated, pipeline impact, event outcomes, etc.).
- Manage the BD/marketing budget prudently and recommend cost-effective activities.
- Prepare regular, concise reports and dashboards for the partners on activities, results, and forward recommendations.
