Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Power BI Developer to design, develop, and support enterprise-level reporting and analytics solutions within the Insurance domain. The role focuses on delivering impactful dashboards and reports across key business functions such as Sales, Underwriting, Policy Administration, Claims, and Finance.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving data-driven decision-making, operational efficiency, and business insights through scalable and high-performing Power BI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports supporting insurance business processes such as policy management, claims analytics, underwriting performance, commissions, and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Insurance Operations, Finance, Actuarial, Distribution, and Compliance teams to gather and translate reporting requirements into analytical solutions.
• Develop and maintain optimized Power BI data models using star and snowflake schema methodologies aligned with insurance KPIs including GWP, NWP, Loss Ratio, Persistency, Claims Ratio, and Agent Performance.
• Create advanced DAX calculations, measures, calculated columns, and time-intelligence solutions for complex reporting requirements.
• Work closely with data engineers and solution architects to integrate Power BI solutions with enterprise data platforms while ensuring alignment with data governance and architecture standards.
• Manage and maintain Power BI Service environments including datasets, reports, dashboards, workspace administration, and performance optimization.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation covering report logic, data models, business definitions, and insurance-specific calculations.

Key Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience developing reporting and analytics solutions using Power BI.
• Strong expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), and Power BI data modeling best practices.
• Advanced SQL skills with experience querying and optimizing data from relational and cloud-based data platforms.
• Good understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling techniques.
• Experience working with insurance-related data domains including policies, premiums, claims, agents/advisors, customer data, and financial metrics.
• Experience integrating Power BI with enterprise platforms such as Azure Synapse, SQL Server, Snowflake, or similar technologies.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate business requirements into actionable reporting solutions.
• Experience using collaboration and project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in Agile environments using Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
• Prior experience delivering Power BI solutions within Life Insurance, Health Insurance, or General Insurance domains.
• Familiarity with insurance regulatory, statutory, and management reporting requirements.
• Exposure to DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
