JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for supporting electrical design, engineering documentation, and technical coordination for renewable energy projects, with hands-on involvement across the full project lifecycle from design through commissioning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Design & Engineering Support

• Assist in preparing electrical designs for LSS projects, including PV layouts, DC/AC sizing, inverters, transformers, and Balance of Plant (BOP).
• Support the preparation of Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), grounding layouts, cable routing, and protection schemes.
• Assist in basic engineering calculations and simulations under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Ensure designs comply with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) requirements, Malaysian Grid Code, IEC, and MS standards.

2.Project Coordination

• Provide technical support during feasibility studies, tender preparation, and contractor evaluations.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and mechanical teams to ensure design alignment.
• Assist site teams during construction, testing, and commissioning activities by addressing technical queries.
• Support the review of EPC contractor drawings and submissions for accuracy and completeness.

3.Compliance & Documentation

• Prepare and maintain technical documents, drawings, and reports for internal records and regulatory submissions.
• Ensure proper documentation control and audit readiness in line with company procedures.
• Support safety, quality, and environmental compliance activities.

REQUIREMENTS:

1) Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

2) Experience: 4-7 years of relevant experience in electrical design, renewable energy, or engineering projects

3)Technical Mastery:

• Basic knowledge of solar PV systems and electrical power system.
• Familiarity with engineering software such as AutoCAD, PVSyst or equivalent is an advantage.
• Awareness of related Malaysia regulations and requirements is a plus.

4) Core Competencies:

• Strong willingness to learn, good analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

5) Flexibility: Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
