Excel VBA & Power BI Consultant – Kuala Lumpur (Contract)

We are supporting a global medical technology firm in a highly regulated environment seeking an experienced Excel VBA & Power BI Consultant to support ongoing reporting, analytics, and operational process improvement initiatives across regional teams.

This is an initial contract opportunity based in Kuala Lumpur with hybrid working arrangements and alignment to EMEA business hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and enhance Excel-based tools including advanced formulas, VBA macros, and automated reporting solutions

• Build and maintain dashboards and visualisations using Power BI for operational and management reporting

• Consolidate and transform data from multiple systems and sources to improve reporting accuracy and visibility

• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into scalable solutions

• Support data analysis, reporting automation, KPI tracking, and process optimisation initiatives

• Troubleshoot existing reporting tools and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and usability

• Assist with documentation, testing, and user adoption of reporting solutions

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with advanced Excel including VBA/Macros, Power Query, Pivot Tables, and complex formulas

• Proven experience building dashboards and reporting solutions in Power BI

• Experience working with multiple data sources and large datasets

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with attention to detail

• Ability to engage directly with business stakeholders and gather reporting requirements independently

• Experience operating within multinational or regulated environments preferred

• Exposure to medical device, healthcare, manufacturing, SSC/GBS, or operational reporting environments would be advantageous
