As a Staff Software engineer in Dispute Systems, you will be an integral part of a multi-functional global development team that develops and maintains Visa Resolve Online, a platform that enables Visa clients to manage their disputes and chargebacks. You will use your Java skills and experience with various technologies to design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality code that meets very high business, security and resiliency requirements. You will collaborate with other teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery and operation of the application. You will have the opportunity to learn and apply new technologies and frameworks, such as AI and generative AI, to enhance the functionality and performance of the application.
The Work itself:
Design, develop and implement features, enhancements, Webservices, Microservices, tools and utilities in a client facing environment on a platform that is highly scalable and resilient on the N-tier architecture in Agile development life cycle.
Acquire comprehensive knowledge of the Visa Dispute business domain, contribute to requirement analysis, evaluate various coding alternatives, and participate in scoping and sizing activities.
Perform third and fourth level support in production and client certification environment with root cause analysis including identifying, developing, and providing solutions for production issues.
Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings
Learn the Visa Dispute business domain, analyze requirements, evaluate different coding options and participate in scoping and sizing activities
Analyze and identify the root cause of performance issues and propose changes to designs and new enhancements for resiliency and scalability.
Responds to incidents during regular on-call rotations, including complex issues with customer or business impact by identifying the level of impact, troubleshooting, contributing to difficult decisions based on business impact, and deploying appropriate fixes to resolve root cause(s).
Provides incident response assistance to others and assists in incident response and resolution guidance, with consideration to the user experience
Engage in effective communication and collaboration with team members, including vendor partner teams
Participate in technological proof-of-concepts, embrace new technologies and frameworks and in code review processes to ensure quality and consistency
Create and maintain technical documentation to support development and operational initiatives
Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants, b2b, and business to government solutions.

Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
7 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 5 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required
7 years of relevant experience in Java/J2EE enterprise applications including Spring framework, Spring Boot, Struts, Angular and Web services
Strong Core Java and programming skills
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Strong communication skills with proven ability to present complex ideas and document concisely
Relational database and strong SQL development experience required. Experience with DB2, MySQL are preferred
Experience with cloud/ microservices technologies like Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift
Experience with No-SQL database like Cassandra
Good technical expertise in designing and developing using integration technologies like IBM IIB or JBoss Fuse
Technical expertise in using Business Rule Management System (BRMS) tools like JBoss Drools
Proficient with Gradle, Git/ BitBucket/ Github
Knowledge of continuous Integration using Jenkins and Gradle
Basic knowledge of UNIX, shell scripting
AI and generative AI skills are highly desirable
Experience with automation testing tools like Selenium/ TestNG/ Cucumber
Working experience in Agile software development projects is preferred
Experience in the financial domain or payment industry is a plus
