Job Purpose
To assist in the upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of the hotel’s facilities, equipment, and systems to ensure a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for guests and staff.
Job Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance of hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and equipment.
- Assist in repairing electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems as directed.
- Perform basic carpentry, painting, and minor repairs to maintain the hotel in good condition.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and service calls from guests and departments.
- Assist in monitoring and recording utility usage (water, electricity, gas) when required.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly used, maintained, and stored safely.
- Support in setting up, moving, and maintaining hotel furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
- Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
- Report any hazards, damages, or malfunctions immediately to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Assist in emergency response procedures, including fire alarm testing and evacuation drills.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Head of Department.
- Perform maintenance activities in hotel room and public area like plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing all types of hardware, plumbing, air conditioner and electrical equipment.
- Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment.
- Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
- Communicate with different types of people to comprehend what they want and to provide them with information and assistance.
- Check for new maintenance requests and update once the task is completed.
- Ability to read and understand test equipment, measuring devices, and safety manuals.
- To clean, lubricate, protect, and otherwise maintain all tools and equipment in the hotel.
- To operate as an independent mechanic by analysing problems, identifying courses of action, and implementing solutions with available resources and to a high degree of quality.
- To be available for any emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to protect guests and associates, and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency.
- To monitor fire alarm as necessary, to be fully informed of the system operation and to handle emergencies involving the systems.
Job Requirements:
- Must possessed at least SPM/Certificate/Diploma related to the field.
- At least 1 year of working experience as maintenance personnel in hotel industry.
- 6 working days with 1 day off.
- Able to work in rotation shift inclusive during weekend and public holidays.
- Able to be presented in hotel during emergency situation.
- Well verse with maintenance operations and administrations.
- Able to work in a fast pace environment.
- Proactive and result oriented.
- Guest oriented and service minded person.
