Job Description:
Support the Project Manager and contract systems analysts in liaising with contractors and service providers to implement public Wi-Fi services in rural areas, as well as other Wi-Fi services under Government-funded and public-private collaboration (PPC) arrangements.
Assist in assessing rural locations—including village offices, public toilets, and piers—for the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of providing public Wi-Fi services.
Help liaise and negotiate with venue owners (including village representatives and residents) on public Wi-Fi implementation matters.
Conduct venue inspections, particularly for rural areas, assessing power supply, coverage area, access points to PTNs, and cabling works.
Verify deployed Wi-Fi services against listed requirements to ensure proper implementation.
Visit various government venues and rural areas to liaise with relevant stakeholders, gather service requirements, and review and approve technical proposals for Wi-Fi installation.
Handle and maintain records of public enquiries regarding Government-funded and PPC public Wi-Fi services.
Support the ongoing operation of Government-funded and PPC Wi-Fi services, including monitoring service availability and performance.
Provide relevant information and input to support the promotion of the Wi-Fi.HK brand.
Requirements:
Higher Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or its equivalent
At least 3 years’ experience in Wi-Fi services implementation, such as venue inspection and assessment for public Wi-Fi services provision, Wi-Fi network system design, technical proposal review and service acceptance, etc
Experience in Wi-Fi hardware, software and testing equipment
At least 3 years’ experience in site preparation, including the experience of verifying / designing of trunking & cabling system, power points, etc.
At least 2 years’ experience in Network Design and Wide Area Network
