The appointee will be working in the HKUST Center for Education Innovation to assist with the project “Examining the Role of AI in Shaping Problem-Solving and Self-Regulatory Strategies in Higher Education”.

The main goal of this research is to see how university students change their learning strategies when they use AI tools like ChatGPT for solving problems. The appointee will be required to assist with a research project investigating the impact of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), specifically ChatGPT, on learning strategies employed by university students. Additional duties will include assisting with participant recruitment, data collection, data entry, coding, analysis and project coordination.

Applicants should possess a master’s degree in education or related disciplines. They should have a strong background in education research, with experience in mixed-methods, integrating quantitative tools like surveys, and qualitative methods such as interviews and observational analysis. (Duration: 2 years, commencing April 2024)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
