Job Summary:
The Manager – Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will lead the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis processes for the manufacturing division. The role supports strategic decision-making by providing financial insights, operational analysis, and management reporting to senior leadership within Hong Leong Manufacturing Group.
This role requires strong analytical capabilities, business partnering with operations, and deep understanding of manufacturing cost structures.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Budgeting
- Lead the annual budgeting and strategic planning process across manufacturing business units.
- Develop rolling forecasts, financial models, and long-term financial plans.
- Coordinate budget submissions from departments and ensure alignment with corporate strategy.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare monthly management reports, variance analysis, and performance dashboards.
- Analyse production costs, margins, and operational KPIs to identify improvement opportunities.
- Provide insights on cost efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
Business Partnering
- Work closely with operations, supply chain, procurement, and plant management to support business decisions.
- Evaluate capital expenditures (CAPEX), new projects, and investment proposals.
- Support management with scenario modelling and financial impact analysis.
Cost & Operational Analysis
- Monitor manufacturing costs, inventory levels, and overhead allocations.
- Analyse standard vs actual cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Support cost optimisation initiatives across production and operations.
Management Reporting
- Deliver timely and accurate financial reports to senior management and group finance.
- Present financial results and business insights in management meetings.
- Ensure consistency with group reporting policies and timelines.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Professional certification preferred (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CFA)
Experience
- 5–12 years of finance experience, with at least 3–5 years in FP&A
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or FMCG sectors preferred
- Strong background in financial modelling, budgeting, and business analysis
Skills & Competencies
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
- Understanding of manufacturing cost structures and operational drivers
- Advanced Excel and financial reporting tools
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills
- Strong communication and presentation abilities
