Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable full-stack web applications using modern JavaScript/TypeScript frontend frameworks and TypeScript/Python backend technologies.
2. Build and support high-availability, enterprise-grade software systems with strong focus on reliability, scalability, security, and performance optimization.
3. Develop and integrate AI-powered capabilities, including Generative AI (GenAI), Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and intelligent automation features.
4. Collaborate closely with product managers, business stakeholders, designers, and engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
5. Design and implement RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend integrations to support modern digital platforms and AI-driven applications.
6. Deploy, manage, and optimize cloud-native applications and infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
7. Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Terraform to support automated, secure, and repeatable infrastructure deployments.
8. Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI within the SHIP-HATS ecosystem to ensure efficient build, testing, and deployment processes.
9. Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot technical issues, and enforce software engineering best practices, coding standards, and security compliance requirements.
10. Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and AI trends to improve system capabilities, development efficiency, and user experience.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline with 4–7 years of professional software engineering experience.
2. Strong experience in modern full-stack web application development, including JavaScript/TypeScript frontend technologies and TypeScript/Python backend development.
3. Hands-on experience or strong interest in Generative AI (GenAI), including LLMs, RAG architectures, AI agents, and AI-driven application development.
4. Proven experience working with AWS cloud infrastructure, Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI.
5. Experience building and maintaining large-scale, high-availability systems; exposure to public sector, legal, or highly regulated environments will be an added advantage.
