Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Data Center Construction Engineer to lead on-site civil & structural, MEP coordination, quality, safety and progress control for mission-critical data center projects in Malaysia. The ideal candidate has proven hands-on DC construction delivery experience and can work effectively with local authorities, consultants, main contractors and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle construction execution for data center projects: civil works, structure, architectural finishes, MEP integration, testing & commissioning support.
• Manage site progress, schedule, cost, quality compliance and HSE in line with project plan and international DC standards (Uptime Tier III / IV, TIA-942).
• Conduct daily site inspection, review shop drawings, method statements, ITPs and material submittals; ensure compliance to specifications and local building codes.
• Coordinate with client, consultants, main contractors, MEP subcontractors, suppliers and local authorities (JKKR, BOMBA, Tenaga Nasional, etc.).
• Lead site meetings, prepare progress reports, track RFI, variation orders and snagging until handover.
• Support pre-construction, tendering, technical clarification and value engineering for data center projects.
• Ensure zero safety incidents, enforce PPE and site safety rules; conduct safety meetings and risk assessments.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on construction site experience in DATA CENTER projects (critical requirement); experience in hyperscale / colo DC is a strong plus.
• Familiar with data center critical systems: raised floor, heavy load structure, power redundancy, cooling, fire suppression, security.
• Knowledge of Malaysian building codes, JKKR/BOMBA approval process and local construction practices.
• Proficient in reading construction drawings, AutoCAD, project schedules (MS Project / Primavera P6).
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and decision-making ability under pressure.
• Willing to work on-site and travel within Malaysia as required.
