Job Overview
The Resident Engineer Workspace ONE will be responsible for providing advanced technical support and operational management of Omnissa Workspace ONE within an enterprise environment. This role involves hands-on Level 3 support, system monitoring, troubleshooting, upgrades, and close collaboration with internal stakeholders and Omnissa support teams to ensure a stable, secure, and high-performing digital workspace platform.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in Workspace ONE administration, endpoint management across multiple operating systems, and identity/access integrations, along with excellent communication and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite and remote Level 3 technical support for Omnissa Workspace ONE during day-to-day operations and project-related activities.
- Manage and support Workspace ONE components including UEM, Access, and related system integrations within the client environment.
- Perform proactive system monitoring, periodic health checks, and preventive maintenance to ensure platform stability and availability.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve incidents related to:
- Device enrollment
- Application deployment
- User access and authentication
- Compliance and security policies
- Conduct root cause analysis and recommend long-term corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with Omnissa principal or authorized support teams to expedite resolution of complex or critical issues.
- Support planned and unplanned activities including system upgrades, patching, configuration changes, and emergency recovery operations.
- Assist in backup, restoration, and recovery procedures as required.
- Maintain up-to-date operational documentation including architecture diagrams, SOPs, and technical runbooks.
- Maintain a logbook documenting daily activities, system checks, incidents, meetings, and changes.
- Ensure monthly endorsement of activity logs by the appointed client manager.
- Provide continuous knowledge transfer, mentoring, and technical guidance to client technical teams.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with operational and security requirements.
Functional & Technical Competencies
- Strong hands-on expertise in Omnissa Workspace ONE UEM administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience managing enterprise endpoints across Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android platforms.
- Knowledge of identity and access integrations including Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP, and Single Sign-On (SSO).
- Understanding of certificate-based authentication, device compliance, and security policy enforcement.
- Familiarity with networking concepts related to VPN, proxy, and endpoint connectivity.
- Experience with Workspace ONE upgrades, patching, backup, and recovery processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and propose sustainable solutions.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting Omnissa Workspace ONE or VMware Workspace ONE.
- Proven experience supporting enterprise-scale endpoint management environments.
- Relevant certifications such as Omnissa Workspace ONE Professional or equivalent VMware certifications are preferred.
