As a Mechanical Engineer, you will provide technical expertise to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and uptime of mechanical systems, particularly cooling and HVAC infrastructure within high-availability facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as SME for mechanical and thermal systems in data centre environments
• Oversee operations of chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH units, HVAC, and water systems
• Conduct performance audits, thermal assessments, and efficiency improvements (e.g. PUE optimisation)
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for mechanical and cooling-related incidents
• Support cooling capacity planning, redundancy design (N, N+1, 2N), and system optimisation
• Review and approve mechanical designs, drawings, and technical specifications
• Support construction, upgrades, and system testing (FAT, SAT, IST)
• Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, ISO, NFPA, and local regulations
• Maintain documentation, system reports, and audit records

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data centre, HVAC, or mission-critical environments
• Strong knowledge of chilled water systems, air distribution, and thermal management
• Experience in cooling optimisation and energy efficiency initiatives
• Ability to interpret mechanical schematics and engineering drawings
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and vendor management skills
• Good communication and documentation capabilities
