Job Summary

The Business Development Executive will drive the growth of MNL by sourcing and securing scrap battery and e-waste supply, forging strategic partnerships, and managing key stakeholder relationships. The role also encompasses EV charger deployments and the advancement of sustainability initiatives related to battery recycling, environmental management, and broader ESG activities.

This position focuses on expanding MNL’s network of battery suppliers while coordinating strategic initiatives with partners to strengthen the company’s position in the circular economy.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

• Prepare and maintain a due diligence master checklist to identify, approach, and secure new suppliers of used and scrap batteries across Malaysia and the region.

• Secure new suppliers and consistently achieve monthly collection and sales targets.

• Build and nurture strong relationships with workshops, automotive service centers, battery retailers, fleet operators, dealerships, logistics companies, industrial facilities, and recycling partners.

• Negotiate commercial agreements for the purchase and collection of used batteries.

• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing dynamics in the battery recycling industry.

• Consistently meet or exceed monthly and annual collection targets set by MNL.

Strategic Partnership Management

• Lead the coordination and execution of sustainability and recycling initiatives.

• Develop comprehensive project plans, implementation timelines, stakeholder engagement strategies, and performance tracking mechanisms for joint initiatives.

• Identify new collaboration opportunities within the circular economy and environmental sustainability sectors.

• Support the design and implementation of ESG-related programs and environmental impact initiatives.

Government & Stakeholder Relations

• Serve as the primary relationship manager for NRES and other relevant government agencies.

• Coordinate meetings, presentations, proposals, reports, and ongoing stakeholder engagement activities.

• Monitor developments in environmental regulations, recycling policies, and sustainability frameworks.

• Identify and pursue grant, funding, and partnership opportunities related to environmental sustainability and recycling.

Project Management

• Coordinate cross-functional projects involving EV charger deployments, recycling partners, and government stakeholders.

• Track project milestones, deliverables, budgets, and reporting requirements.

• Prepare business cases, proposals, presentations, and management reports.

• Ensure projects are delivered on time and meet agreed objectives.

Reporting & Analytics

• Prepare weekly and monthly business development reports.

• Track battery collection volumes, supplier performance, revenue opportunities, and partnership outcomes.

• Maintain accurate records of commercial agreements and stakeholder engagements.

• Provide actionable recommendations to improve operational efficiency and drive business growth.
