Job Overview
As a trainee in Internal Communications under our Graduate Employability Program (GEP), you will play an active role in strategizing, planning and producing high-impact internal content.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong foundation in writing (such as journalism or copywriting) who can craft compelling narratives with minimal guidance, paired with a sharp eye for basic visual design. This role is designed to sharpen your professional corporate communication skills while giving you the platform to own and drive meaningful employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities: Content Creation & Editorial Ownership
- Draft, edit and publish high-quality internal communications materials, including company-wide announcements, newsletters and staff intranet features.
- Apply journalistic interviewing skills to gather information from various departments, turning technical updates into engaging, human-centric corporate stories.
- Utilise copywriting techniques to write clear, concise and persuasive copy that drives employee action and aligns with the company's corporate values.
Campaign Planning & Execution
- Participate in strategic brainstorming sessions, contributing creative concepts for internal campaigns and cultural initiatives.
- Coordinate logistics, content calendars and timelines for communication campaigns and employee engagement activities.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with cross-functional teams to independently investigate, verify and source accurate details for internal stories.
- Support the team in liaising with external vendors, printers or agency partners when required.
Digital & Visual Communication
- Translate written narratives into visually appealing multimedia content, creating basic posters, infographics and short-form videos for internal platforms.
- Manage and optimise internal digital channels (Intranet, email broadcast systems and TV screens).
Monitoring & Feedback
- Track and analyse audience engagement metrics (open rates, click-through rates, social interactions) to assess communication effectiveness.
- Contribute to post-campaign reviews and offer data-driven recommendations for future strategies.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications Requirements (Strong Foundation)
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Relations, Advertising/Copywriting, or a highly related field.
- Exceptional Writing Portfolio: Demonstrated ability to write clearly, creatively, and grammatically correct copy in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Editorial Independence: Proven ability to self-edit, research and structure a story or announcement with minimal supervision.
- Core Digital Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and familiarity with digital collaboration tools.
Pay: RM2,000.00 per month
