Job Purpose

To lead and manage the plant's Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) function by ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical, instrumentation, automation, and control systems. The role is responsible for driving maintenance excellence, equipment reliability, energy optimization, regulatory compliance, continuous improvement initiatives, and execution of capital projects while leading and developing the electrical maintenance team to support business and production objectives.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (Power / Instrumentation) from established higher learning institution.

Experience

Minimum 5 - 6 years of electrical / mechatronic experience in manufacturing process plant environment.

Knowledge in PLC, Automation & Instrumentation will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

1.Lead and supervise the Electrical & Instrumentation team, including electrical coordinators and technicians, ensuring safe work practices, competency development, performance management, and effective manpower utilization.

2. Ensure high availability and reliability of plant electrical, instrumentation, automation, PLC, SCADA, and control systems through effective preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.

3. Hands on and lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) activities for electrical, instrumentation, and automation failures to minimize downtime and prevent recurrence.

4. Develop, implement, and continuously improve maintenance strategies, procedures, SOPs, and PM schedules to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

5. Manage electrical and instrumentation projects from concept, design review, budgeting, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.

6. Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory, electrical safety, energy management, environmental, and company requirements.

7. Manage electrical infrastructure including substations, transformers, switchgears, MCCs, generators, buildings, compressors, and utility systems.

8. Lead & maintain plant automation and digitalization initiatives, including PLC, HMI, VFD, motor control, process control, and industrial network systems improvements.

9. Identify and implement energy-saving and sustainability initiatives to reduce energy consumption and improve plant efficiency.

10. Manage contractors, vendors, and service providers to ensure quality, safety, cost effectiveness, and timely completion of work.

11. Prepare and manage maintenance OPEX budgets, CAPEX proposals, project justifications, and cost-control initiatives.

12. Maintain accurate technical documentation, drawings, asset records, calibration records, maintenance history, and engineering reports.

13. Lead continuous improvement initiatives using reliability engineering principles, failure analysis, and maintenance best practices to improve OEE, reduce downtime, and optimize lifecycle costs.

14. Participate in plant shutdowns, expansions, debottlenecking projects, and new equipment installations to ensure successful execution and long-term maintainability.

15. Collaborate with production, quality, safety, global engineering, and corporate teams to achieve plant performance, reliability, and continuous improvement objectives.

16. Willing to work long hours and sometimes on weekends and public holidays should need arises.

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
