GENERAL DESCRIPTION

• Responsible towards the management of all patients in the absence of Specialist.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Outpatient at A&E

• Assess and examine all patients that come to Accident & Emergency. 

• Carry out investigations as required and give treatment accordingly. 

• Provide emergency treatment where necessary (while waiting for arrival of Consultant).

• Consult the relevant Consultant if there in doubt in managing the patient. 

• Refer to appropriate Consultant if the patient needs Specialist attention or condition needs.

• Admission or upon request by patient or patient relatives.

​​Inpatient 

• Responsible towards the management of all inpatients in the absence of the Specialist. 

• Attend to ward emergencies.

• Consult relevant consultant (if required) pertaining to management of patients. 

• Refers results of investigation to relevant consultant so that appropriate management details can be obtained.  

• Performed procedures such as setting up intravenous lines if the SRNs are unable to perform. 

• Administer intravenous drugs. 

• Document, where necessary all assessment examination investigation and treatment in patients’ notes.

Participate actively in any other new service that is introduced 

• Ensure produce better result and Continual Improvement in deliver service to customers. 

• To perform any others duties as and when required by the management.

• Produce outcome within the expectation of the share holder and customers.

• This position requires high level of knowledge in Accident & Emergencies Services & Wards which related to all policies and procedures. The decision may impact the quality service of daily routine works and operation.

Latitude

• Freedom in action constrained by policies and procedures of services and hospital level.  Issues of ethical significance affecting the services shall be reported to Chief Executive Officer and management.
