About us
Hypotenuse AI is reinventing the way ecommerce brands work in the age of AI.
Enterprise ecommerce systems have always been slow, clunky and manual. We’re building a new way for ecommerce brands to manage their product data and automate their processes using AI - turning workflows that used to take months into days. On Hypotenuse AI, brands can store their product data, and have AI agents fill in missing details, edit their product images and write their content.
We power the largest brands globally - ranging from Crunchyroll and Billabong, to major department stores across the US and Canada. We’re backed by top global investors, including Y Combinator, January Capital and more.
About the role
This role is for the hungry. It isn’t your typical 9-5 job - it’ll be intense, fast-paced and filled with hard work. But your rate of learning here will be unmatched. You’ll be working in one of the fastest growing startups, speaking to executives of the largest Fortune 500 brands (i.e. our customers) and working alongside an extremely ambitious, driven team - that’s also highly collaborative and eager to help you get ramped up.
This is a highly generalist role focusing on managing/onboarding customers, architecting features and making sure customers get the best experience on our platform. It crosses between 3 areas: customer success, product architecting and process management. Because of that generality, your day-to-day may vary, but you can expect to:
- Own customer onboarding end-to-end: setting expectations, designing workflows/features, driving implementation, educating users and managing relationships
- Become a Hypotenuse AI product expert to ensure customers get the best workflows and systems - not just from existing features, but helping to drive what we build next
- Create systems, build with AI and run new processes to handle customer operations
- Help to drive the iteration and design of new product features
- Potentially travel to meet customers in person (typically in the US)
You’ll love this role if you:
- Prefer to do actual impactful work and see results rather than battle politics or bureaucracy
- Are energized by speaking to customers, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in AI/ecommerce and figuring out elegant solutions to ambiguous problems
- Value rapid growth and learning, are ambitious - or want to start a company in the future
About you
What’s required:
- Product-minded: able to think logically, have strong customer empathy and good UX-sense.
- Intensity & drive: you’re not satisfied with comfort and life being just “okay”. You want to commit, hit hard and become exceptional.
- Scrappy, fast-learner: high rate of growth, inquisitive about AI/tech, able to handle ambiguity, and resourceful at getting things done even with imperfect circumstances or limited resources.
- Strong communication: in both writing and speaking, with the ability to understand nuances from users and to convey complex topics with simplicity and high clarity.
- Organized and meticulous: able to handle many parallel requests, issues and timelines while staying afloat and paying close attention to details and consistency.
- AI familiarity: you don’t necessarily need to have built models, but have a good intuition around LLMs and agents.
Some practical notes:
- You must be open to working across timezones, especially for US customers.
- You should have openness to the possibility of traveling/living abroad for work.
The role is NOT a fit if you’re looking for:
- A pure product manager role. This role will utilize PM skills, but it isn’t a pure PM role; it’s more front facing rather than about just product managing engineers.
- A structured environment with spoon-fed instructions and no ambiguity.
- Strategy/consulting/”just talk” type of positions. This role requires you to get your hands dirty with product/data/customers and get things done.
