What's the role?

We are global strategic marketing team (RMT) located in KL. We look into optimizing Hilti website to boost online customer experience, collaborate with Hilti cloud to bring impactful performance and experience improvements for backend services. Key services that we focused on are customer data, product data, sales order and pricing data.

Join us as an Intern in our IT team and you will work on exciting projects ranging from Software backend developer / Mobile Developer / QA engineer. As a member of our international and multidisciplinary team, you will gain experience in global IT project and solution management, improve your practical expertise, and solve real-life challenges in an international enterprise.

What You'll do

We offer multiple options in the development field in our team:

Backend Developer

As a backend developer, you will primarily work on:

• Assuming the role of a technical expert for solution design and development with the responsibilities below:
• Partner with business stakeholders, product owners and project managers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical design.
• Collaborate with solution architects to design the technical solution based on defined business requirements and validated architectural principles.
• Work closely with Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of the solutions prior to deployment to Production.
• Research, operate and improve existing solutions based on future-ready design and technologies.

QA Engineer

As a QA Engineer Intern focused on the backend side, you'll primarily work on API testing, both manual (using tools like Postman) and automated (using frameworks like Rest Assured). You'll learn how to design, execute, and maintain tests that ensure the quality and reliability of the data powering our Digital Platform. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting in the design and execution of API test cases, both manual and automated
• Performing manual API testing using tools such as Postman
• Contributing to test automation using Rest Assured (or similar Java-based frameworks)
• Reviewing requirements and technical documentation to support test planning
• Identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs thoroughly
• Supporting the team in monitoring quality assurance metrics
• Collaborating with the team throughout all stages of the software development lifecycle

You'll be working with:

• Product team based on Agile methodology (Scrum, Kanban)
• Monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Datadog, cloud-native monitoring solutions)
• Multiple technologies and frameworks (Java, Kotlin, TypeScript, NodeJs, Python, Java Spring, Java Play, Angular)
• Automated CI/CD toolchain (Gitlab, Bamboo)
• Cloud platform (AWS, Azure, SAP Cloud)
• Java, JavaScript, Python
• RESTful APIs

• Result-oriented – resilient in delivering and able to work under conditions of ambiguity

• Preferably in your final year of studies
