SWEATINCGlobal is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Part-Time Chess Instructor to conduct engaging enrichment classes for children.

Responsibilities

• Conduct beginner to intermediate chess lessons for children.
• Teach the rules of chess, piece movement, basic openings, tactics and endgames.
• Plan fun, structured and age-appropriate lessons, puzzles and activities.
• Help students develop critical thinking, patience, concentration and problem-solving skills.
• Manage the classroom and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Monitor students’ progress and provide feedback when required.
• Encourage good sportsmanship and respectful gameplay.
• Ensure the proper handling and safekeeping of chess sets and materials.

Requirements

• Prior experience teaching chess to children is required.
• Strong understanding of chess fundamentals, tactics and strategies.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Patient, engaging and comfortable working with children.
• Reliable and available on weekdays from approximately 3:00 PM onwards.
• Experience teaching in preschools, primary schools or enrichment centres is an advantage.
• A recognised chess rating or competitive playing experience is an advantage.
• Singaporeans and Permanent Residents are preferred.
