Job Description

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist Manufacturing and Process Engineers in supporting and improving manufacturing processes for optical module assembly, alignment, testing, and packaging.
  • Support daily production activities, process setup, data collection, troubleshooting, and process improvement tasks on the production floor.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze basic manufacturing data, including yield, scrap rate, cycle time, defect rate, and process performance.
  • Assist in monitoring production processes and identifying process abnormalities, quality issues, or opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Equipment, and Engineering teams to support the investigation and resolution of manufacturing issues.
  • Support fiber alignment, optical testing, precision assembly, and other optical module manufacturing processes under the guidance of experienced engineers.
  • Assist in preparing, updating, and maintaining process documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures, work instructions, process flowcharts, checklists, and engineering records.
  • Participate in New Product Introduction activities, process trials, sample builds, process validation, and production ramp-up activities.
  • Support basic root cause analysis, defect investigation, containment actions, and corrective and preventive action activities.
  • Assist in conducting process experiments, time studies, data analysis, and engineering evaluations.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities, including 5S, Kaizen, waste reduction, productivity improvement, and process optimization.
  • Support the preparation of engineering reports, presentations, process data, and project updates.
  • Ensure all assigned activities comply with company SOPs, ISO standards, ESD requirements, cleanroom procedures, safety rules, and quality requirements.
  • Attend technical training, on-the-job training, and departmental meetings to develop practical manufacturing and process engineering knowledge.
  • Complete assigned internship projects and present the findings or improvement results to the relevant department.
  • Perform other manufacturing and process engineering duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Job Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Optical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Students who are required to complete an industrial training or internship programme are encouraged to apply.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering principles, process control, production workflow, or quality control.
  • Knowledge of optical modules, fiber optics, electronic components, semiconductor manufacturing, precision assembly, or optical testing will be an added advantage.
  • Willing to work and learn in a manufacturing, production-floor, cleanroom, or controlled environment.
  • Good analytical thinking, observation, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to collect, organize, analyze, and present basic engineering or manufacturing data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Exposure to ERP, MES, AutoCAD, statistical analysis software, or engineering tools will be an added advantage.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Able to follow instructions, SOPs, safety requirements, ESD controls, and quality procedures.
  • Responsible, proactive, detail-oriented, and willing to learn new technical skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively with Production, Quality, Equipment, and Engineering team members.
  • Basic listening and speaking skills in Mandarin are required for communication with relevant technical team members.
  • Applicants must provide an official internship or industrial training letter from their educational institution, where applicable.
  • Internship availability of at least three to six months is preferred.

Pay: RM1,500.00 per month
