Position Title:
Facility & Maintenance Engineering Intern (Welding/Fabrication)
Position Overview
We are seeking Diploma or Bachelor Degree students in Engineering or related fields to join our Facility & Maintenance Department as interns. This internship offers hands-on exposure to facility operations, equipment maintenance, utilities management, troubleshooting activities, fabrication works, and engineering support within a manufacturing environment. Interns will gain practical experience in maintaining production equipment, plant facilities, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to ensure operational reliability and efficiency.
Applicants with practical skills in welding, fabrication, machining, or mechanical repair are highly encouraged to apply. Candidates who possess recognized welding certifications (e.g., SMAW, MIG, TIG, or equivalent) will have an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance activities for production machines, equipment, and facility systems
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of machine, equipment, and utility-related issues
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining plant utilities such as electrical systems, compressed air systems, water supply systems, and other facility infrastructure
- Participate in machine inspection, servicing, calibration, and maintenance scheduling activities
- Assist in fabrication, welding, and modification works for machine parts, equipment, and facility improvements under the guidance of maintenance personnel
- Support maintenance documentation, records management, and reporting activities
- Assist in implementing and maintaining maintenance procedures, work instructions, and preventive maintenance programs
- Collaborate with maintenance technicians, engineers, and production teams to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency
- Participate in facility improvement, equipment upgrade, and engineering projects as assigned
- Support compliance with safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company standards
Skills & Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields
- Basic understanding of machine maintenance, facility systems, and engineering principles
- Knowledge of electrical systems, PLC, automation, instrumentation, or control systems is an added advantage
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Practical knowledge or hands-on experience in welding, fabrication, machining, metalworking, machine repair, or maintenance activities is highly preferred
- Candidates possessing welding certifications (e.g., SMAW, MIG, TIG, or equivalent) will have a distinct advantage
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance concepts and equipment reliability practices is preferred
- Good analytical thinking, communication, teamwork, and adaptability skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
