Responsibilities

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Business Growth & Strategy

  • Develop and implement the company's business development strategy to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Identify new markets, customer segments, and business opportunities for expansion.
  • Evaluate market trends, competitor activities, and customer demands to support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare annual business development plans, budgets, and sales forecasts.

2. Sales Leadership

  • Lead and oversee the wholesale sales function to achieve sales targets.
  • Develop pricing strategies and commercial proposals to maximize profitability.
  • Monitor sales performance and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Ensure consistent achievement of revenue, margin, and growth objectives.

3. Customer Relationship Management

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, wholesalers, and strategic partners.
  • Negotiate high-value contracts and long-term supply agreements.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Resolve major customer issues and commercial disputes effectively.

4. Market Development

  • Identify opportunities to introduce new products or expand existing product lines.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging industry trends and customer needs.
  • Develop market penetration and customer acquisition strategies.
  • Explore opportunities for regional and international market expansion where applicable.

5. Strategic Partnerships

  • Identify and develop partnerships with suppliers, manufacturers, logistics providers, and distributors.
  • Build collaborative relationships that enhance the organization's competitive advantage.
  • Evaluate partnership opportunities through financial and commercial analysis.

6. Financial Management

  • Prepare business cases and investment proposals for growth initiatives.
  • Monitor sales margins, profitability, and return on investment.
  • Manage departmental budgets effectively.
  • Ensure commercial decisions align with financial objectives.

7. Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the business development and sales teams.
  • Set performance objectives and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Foster a high-performance, customer-focused culture.
  • Identify training and development needs for team members.

8. Contract Negotiation & Commercial Management

  • Lead negotiations for major customer contracts and commercial agreements.
  • Ensure contract terms protect the company's commercial interests.
  • Monitor contract compliance and renewal opportunities.
  • Work closely with legal and finance teams during contract execution.
