Role Overview
As a Commercial Intern at iMotorbike, you will report directly to the VP of Commercial and serve as a key support to the commercial leadership. You will be involved in real business activities — from sales research and market analysis to coordinating across the sales and purchasing teams. This role requires a confident communicator who is comfortable engaging with people at all levels and representing the VP in meetings and discussions.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Research Support:
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to support the VP of Commercial in strategic decision-making.
- Assist in prospecting new business accounts — including outreach, follow-ups, and maintaining the sales pipeline
- Prepare proposals, pitch decks, and commercial documentation for potential clients and partners.
- Support the sales team in identifying new business opportunities across the automotive and financial services ecosystem.
VP & Team Coordination:
- Act as a direct assistant to the VP of Commercial — managing schedules, preparing briefing materials, and coordinating follow-ups on behalf of the VP
- Represent the VP in internal and external meetings with the sales and purchasing teams when required
- Liaise between departments to ensure timely communication and alignment on commercial priorities.
- Help manage and nurture relationships with existing partners and customers — coordinating onboarding, addressing queries, and ensuring satisfaction.
Reporting and Data:
- Track and report on commercial KPIs, sales activity, and partnership performance using internal tools and dashboards
- Compile data summaries and prepare reports for review by the VP of Commercial.
- Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis to support the commercial team.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
- Internship duration: 3-6 months
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills — comfortable engaging with people at all levels, including senior stakeholders.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin is an added advantage.
- Extroverted and people-oriented; confident representing the VP in meetings and discussions.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesise market data and research into actionable insights
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in the automotive industry, e-commerce, or marketplace platforms is a plus.
Pay: RM500.00 per month
