SafeConnect (formerly SafeTruck) is a regional leader in AI-driven IoT fleet management, tracking over 25,000 commercial vehicles daily across Southeast Asia. We are seeking a highly motivated AI & IoT Engineering Intern to support our Research & Development efforts in mobility intelligence and hardware innovation. This internship offers a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between advanced IoT sensor data and AI-driven predictive analytics while working alongside senior R&D specialists.
Job Responsibilities
- IoT Hardware R&D and PCB Design
- Circuit Board Innovation: Lead the conceptualization, design, and prototyping of next-generation IoT PCB boards specifically for commercial vehicle tracking.
- Hardware Experimentation: Conduct rigorous experimentation on circuit performance, signal integrity, and sensor integration to ensure reliability in harsh automotive environments.
- Embedded Systems: Develop and configure firmware for specialized IoT assets, focusing on low-latency data transmission and edge computing.
- AI & Mobility Intelligence
- Tracking Algorithms: Develop advanced AI models for mobility intelligence, including predictive route planning and intelligent fleet operations.
- Computer Vision Integration: Optimize SafeVision AI Video Telematics by integrating ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and DSM (Driver Status Monitoring) data into the hardware layer.
- Data Aggregation: Build unified data pipelines that transform billions of raw IoT data points into actionable operational insights.
- Testing, Validation & Compliance
- Prototyping: Manage the full lifecycle of hardware prototypes, from initial CAD drawings to final validation.
- Safety Standards: Ensure all designs comply with high industry standards, including ISO 27001 for data security and MIROS 5-Star TrackScore safety certifications.
- Root Cause Analysis: Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to device performance and real-time connectivity.
