KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Accounting and Transactional Support
- Bookkeeping & Data Entry: Assist with accurately inputting financial data into accounting software (e.g., Quickbooks) and spreadsheets.
- Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR): Support the AP process by verifying, coding, and processing invoices. Assist with AR by tracking client payments and following up on outstanding balances.
- General Ledger (GL) Maintenance: Help prepare and post basic journal entries and assist with maintaining the chart of accounts.
- Reconciliations: Perform bank, credit card, and vendor statement reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
2. Financial Analysis and Reporting
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of key financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Budgeting Support: Help in gathering data for the annual budget, monthly forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
- Variance Analysis: Support the team by analyzing actual financial results against budgeted amounts and identifying key trends or discrepancies.
- Data Modeling: Assist in building or updating financial models and creating custom reports for management using Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
3. Compliance and Process Improvement
- Audit Preparation: Provide support during internal and external audits by gathering, organizing, and preparing required documentation and financial records.
- Research: Conduct research on relevant financial regulations, tax requirements, or technical accounting matters
- Documentation: Document and review existing financial processes and controls, recommending potential changes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Filing & Archiving: Maintain and organize both physical and electronic financial files, contracts, and confidential records.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of fundamental accounting and financial principles (e.g., debits/credits, financial statements).
- Mid to High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a professional demeanor.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality.
