Job Title: Culinary Intern

Location: Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia

Duration: 3–6 months (Internship)

Job Summary

The Culinary Intern will assist the kitchen team in food preparation and daily operations while learning professional cooking techniques in a hotel environment. This role provides hands-on experience across different kitchen sections such as hot kitchen, cold kitchen, pastry, and banquets.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist chefs in food preparation, including chopping, marinating, and basic cooking
• Support mise en place (ingredient preparation and kitchen setup)
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations
• Follow recipes and presentation standards set by the hotel
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
• Assist in receiving and storing food supplies properly
• Support banquet and large-scale food production when required

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Diploma/Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or related field
• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations
• Willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Physically fit and able to stand for long hours
